    Description

    NO RESERVE
    Approximate 66mm Pewter two-piece encased pocket/camp mirror with raised bust of Washington, inscribed "GEORIIS WASHINGTON".
    Other side, centered, is "BREVETE / 1844". Brevete being a French type of patent.
    Though not showing well in the 4th picture, the mirror's glass is intact though heavily included.
    The last picture displays the old Hartzog auction tag that arrived here with this piece (& accompanies this lot).
    Our online searching found one similar Brevete mirror, though marked for Zachary Taylor...it sold in a 2003 Heritage Auction for 8.
