APPARENTLY UNPUBLISHED: DECAPOLIS. CAPITOLIAS UNDER DIADUMENIAN (AD 218) (?). AE. BARE HEADED, DRAPED BUST OF DIADUMENIAN (?) R. SEEN FROM BEHIND / HEAD OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT R.Decapolis. Capitolias under Diadumenian (AD 218) (?). AE. Bare headed, draped bust of Diadumenian (?) r. seen from behind / Head of Alexander the Great r. Apparently unpublished. The attribution to Diadumenian is based on the portrait style and a legend that seems to include part of his nomen, Opellius (OΠ[E]ΛΛ can be partially read on the left). Although the name of the issuing city is entirely off flan, the portrait of Alexander the Great is unmistakeable and his description as MAKEΔ ΓEN (Macedonian ancestor) is typical for Capitolias.
