VINTAGE GERMAN LANDSCAPE ETCHING AUGUSTIN HIRSCHVOGEL VILLAGE MOUNTAINS PRINT

Description

Authentic mid 1940's reprint of a 16th century etching. Printing process is copper plate engraving and is an etching process but this is NOT an original etching, as the original etching are from the 16th century. This is a mid century reprint. There is plate impression all around image.  Condition is very good and clean for a print of this age with an age patina. Paper is average quality, and has some normal slight ripples around edges from aging nicely and the age patina adds character and charm, and all proves the age. NO holes, NO creases, NO odors, NO frays, NO repairs, NO scratches. Print is full plate, untrimmed, size as issued and is blank on back.  Blank margins are slightly wider than shown. Overall size is approximately 8.75 by 11 inches with image size being approximately  5 1/8 by 7.75 inches.
Print is not titled but is known as "Dorflandschaft mit Kirche " .  Artist is Augustin Hirschvogel..
