    Description

    Two excellent silver dollar sized medals from the state of Illinois.  The Chicago Fire Centennial piece is especially interesting to me and a great reminder of Chicago's colorful and tragic history.  The rendition of the eagle on the 1968 piece is reminiscent of the design used on the 1918 commemorative half dollar.
