The Mustang squad went 12-0 that season, but lost the post-season game to Stanford, considered by some to be the underdog in the matchup. The Indians led by 7 points early, set up by an unexpected pass.
The Mustangs fought back in characteristic aerial style, but suffered six interceptions. And then there was that fumble at the Stanford five.
The loss didn’t discourage the tens of thousands who turned out to meet the team train in middle of the night in downtown Dallas. The '35 Mustangs, the first Southwest Conference squad to play in the Rose Bowl, had distinguished themselves on a national stage. And would be named National Champions for the 1935 season.
Eighty-five years later, the poster is still clear and bright, the paper is
lightly dampstained and handled, and
benefiting from the gentle foxing that only serves to enhance value.
Carefully wrapped and mailed promptly in a sturdy box with tracking.
