    A bronze medal from Royal Mint commemorating the centenary of The Order of St. John, comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and the original presentation box. The Order of St. John was a medieval and early modern Catholic military order with roots in an Amalfitan hospital, their enduring tradition to "serve 'our Lords the sick' and 'our Lords the poor'". Both sides of the medal have embossed decoration, one side reading "The Order of St. John, 900 Years of Caring, 1099-1999," with an image of two crusaders, one supporting the other, and the other side reading "Royal Mint, Centenary Medal" with a coat of arms. Approx. 2.5" in diameter and weighs approx. 130g/4.5oz. No issues found with condition - see pictures. This is an awesome piece recalling early Catholic history!
