Description
NGC graded, serialized and encapsulated silver billon tetradrachmof infamous Roman Emperor Elagabalus, who reigned between
218 - 222 AD. This was a provincial minting from Antioch in Syria.

Reverse shows large wing-spread Eagle.
After the death of his cousin Emperor Caracalla, Elagabalus was put on the throne

His short reign was filled with scandal and depravity, even by Roman standards.
So much so that his grandmother orchestrated his assassination and replaced him with
another cousin, Alexander Severus.
Authenticated by the NGC, it was given the grade "
CHOICE VERY FINE
" with a
3/5 for Strike
and a
3/5 for Surface
.
