The Pyrenees Cup was a touring car tour organized from 1905 by the newspaper La Dépêche du Midi and La Vie au grand air, which aimed to promote the Pyrenean region.

The participants of the time therefore made a route starting and arriving from Toulouse and this over a period of one week from August 20 to 27. This stage race passed through the cities of Carcassonne, Narbonne, Perpignan, Luchon, Cauterets, Pau, Bayonne among others ... An edition of the rally also took place in 1966.
The Pyrenees Cup saw the light of day 104 years after the first edition thanks to the REC association (Classic event route) and it was in Capvern, at the foot of the Pyrenean foothills that the 2009 edition took place.
The edition of the Pyrenees Cup 2009, co-organized in October with La Dépêche, is a regular tourist hike reserved for old vehicles. This event is the last of the historic Challenge of Aquitaine and Midi-Pyrénées.
