Kaiser Wilhelm I, German Emperor/King of Prussia Birth Centenary Medal, 1797-1897. Issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Kaiser Wilhelm I, 22 March 1797. Medal is made of aluminum with loop for attachment. Obverse: right facing bust of Wilhelm I encircled by laurel wreath. Reverse: Cherubs with crown over cradle, numeral 100, "22 March".  Medal shows minor corrosion and wear. 40 mm diameter, 3 mm thick. NOTE:
Not the same as the bronze Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Medal/Centenary Medal which was awarded to Prussian officials, soldiers, and veterans.
