    Description

After a bit more than 60 years of collecting coins, it is time to move my collection along to new collectors. From my ancient coin collection is an interesting bronze AE19 of Gordian III who ruled as Caesar and then Augustus from 238-244AD. This bronze is 19mm in diameter and was minted in Nicaea, Bithynia which is located in present day Turkey.
On the obverse is a radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gordian right and the legend

everse are three military standards with wreaths above with name of mint city NIKAIE

isted in British Museum Coin catalogue as BMC 125.
