    Description

Very fine medal commemorating Gustave-Auguste Ferrié (1868-1932), who was a French radio pioneer and army general. The obverse is obviously based on an old design, and the medal was reissued for the 100th anniversary of Ferrié.
Interesting for all collectors of war or military memorabilia.

I am currently reorganizing my collection of Art Nouveau and Art Deco medals and plaquettes, mainly from France. Over the next weeks, I will regularly put on sale medals of prominent medal artists.
If you are interested in medals of that period, I would like to recommend the book 'French medallic art 1870-1940', which I published in 2010.
