Fantastic historicalWilliam IV, Prince of Orange (1711-1751) and Princess Anne of Great Britain (1709-1759) rare (according to the British Museum Website)
Silver Medalet commemorating the birth of Prince William of Orange, 1748,
AR 26. The Medalet was struck in the Netherlands. The Diameter of the Medalet is 26 mm, and weighs about 4.30 gm.
The reigning Prince had already been married for six years when the first born son was at length granted to his prayers, just after 100 yesrs of the Traety of Westpahalia.

The Obverse of the Medalet features
Busts conjoined, right, of William IV, Prince of Orange and Princess Anne. He, hair long, is in armor with straps on the shoulder; She wears coronet, rich dress with jewel on the breast, and ermine mantle.

The Reverse depicts
an Angel, reposing on radiated clouds, holds the infant Prince in her mantle. The
Inscription in the Obverse reads:
W . C . H . FRISO ET ANNA D . G . ARAVS . ET NASS . PRINC, and that on the R
everse reads:
TANDEM EXORATVS DEDIT (
[Heaven], at length prevailed upon, has granted our prayer) /
NATVS . ANN . LIB . IVBIL . D . VIII . MART.
