    Description

    AN ESTATE FIND.  This is a collection of paper associated with research for a proposed patent for, "...the general object of folding a sheet so as to form an envelope" (from the cover letter of the lawyer) as conducted by Mason, Fenwick & Lawrence of Washington DC.  The items in this collection include:
    1) A brown date stamped (5/22/1943) envelope from the lawyers to the individual seeking the patent
    2) A 5/22/1943 3-page letter from the lawyer firm providing the results of their research.  They found 5 comparable patents, which are included in this package, and concluded that, "We are of the opinion that your arrangement is patentable over these references."  Attached to the 3-page letter is a bill for .
    3) A later letter from the lawyers date 8/9/43 in which they state they have enclosed patent application for a "Combined Letter Sheet and Envelope".  This letter and envelope were the only items separate from the package of the patent research.  There is no copy of the patent application or any results from an ultimate decision from the patent office on this envelope.
    4) 5 folded and stapled comparable patents found by the lawyers in their research.  Two of the 5 patents are shown in listing photo.  They are multiple pages and all contain at least one figure.
