    Description

Chinese Hand-Painted Dragon Teacup Bone China dated from 1911.
This is a beautiful and painted Chinese teacup. There are no real markings except for the Made in China red stamp which was started in 1911. The particular square stamp I believe was on the early side of that period. It definitely has great age to it. This is what I believe to be bone china because it is not a bright white and it is more of a matte finish. I believe egg shell can have a map finish as well. And an all honesty they are both thin and see-through so we could be talking one of the other. From handling so many teacups at this point, I do believe this to be bone.
It is hand painted exquisitely with a gorgeous dragon that wraps around the teacup or whatever small drink you would like to fill it with. It is a smaller cup so I would almost call it a demitasse. The saucer shows the same attention and delicate detail to the painting that the cup does. It is truly a work of art. The base of this reminds me of a family Rose plate with a large amount of detail. It is absolutely stunning and the amount of hours that someone spent making this owe so many years ago is just a wonderful little piece of history in itself.

    About me:
I graduated with a Bachelor's in Interior Design in '97. I worked in the field for 20 years successfully until having twins with medical issues. This necessitated my transition to a different kind of work and staying home with them. Recently, I have reignited my passion for design with my (mostly) vintage and antiques eBay business. I'm very small but I get to handle all aspects and make sure my customers are happy. I find it very fulfilling to find hidden treasures for others to enjoy! In a strange way, it keeps me in touch with my design roots and helps make a little money to participate in paying bills for my family. Thank you so much for looking and for your purchase, I really appreciate you!
