    DODGER STADIUM . 1) DODGERS V. ST. LOUIS CARDINALS, 8-24-1974. THE DODGERS WON 3-0. 2) DODGERS V. SAN DIEGO PADRES, 9-19-1974.  THE DODGERS WON 11-2. FUTURE HALL OF FAMERS PLAYED IN THESE GAMES: DAVE WINFIELD, WILLIE MCCOVEY, AND PITCHER DON SUTTON, WHO PICKED UP THE VICTORIES IN BOTH GAMES.  THESE WERE JUST TWO WINS IN TWO GAMES OVER SUTTON'S HALL OF FAME CAREER OF 324 WINS. AND AS IN A LOT OF THOSE 324 GAMES, SUTTON WAS SUPPORTED BY THE DODGERS INFIELD CAST OF GARVEY, LOPES, CEY, AND RUSSELL, WHO WERE A FIXTURE IN L.A. FOR YEARS. THE DODGERS WON THE NATIONAL LEAGUE PENNANT IN 1974 BEFORE FALLING TO THE OAKLAND A'S IN THE WORLD SERIES.
