Description
NGC-certified and difficult to find in any grade. Solid example of this coin from Gerasa (nowthe Jordanian city of Jerash) in Decapolis. The Decapolis was a group of ten cities on the eastern
frontier of the Roman Empire in the first centuries BC and AD. Each city functioned as an autonomous
city-state dependent on Rome. Jerash today is home to one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman
cities and is nicknamed "the Pompeii of the East".
Obverse with draped bust of Faustina the Younger facing right. Reverse with draped bust of Artemis
