Close to Baron Pierre de Coubertin, account Albert Gautier-Vignal (1854-1939) was behind the creation of the Monaco Olympic Committee. Regularly present at IOC meetings, he has enabled Monaco to enter this new world. This close friend of Coubertin's ambition is to represent the principality of monaco within the International Olympic Committee. Drafted in 1907, the idea materialized in 1908, just before the London Games. He was also Vice-President of the National Fencing Federation (1908), Founding President of the Nice International Military Horse Show (1920) and President of the Relief Society for Military Wounded
This medal is an award because he was also the president
of the city of Nice gas and electricity provider company (here for the centenary of this company).
