Description
Set of 4 Chinese Translucent Rice Eyes Tea Cups with Underglaze Blue decoration on White Porcelain. Decorated with the 5 Claw Dragon and Bats inside the cup and Blue trimming of bats and other blue decoration and diamond shapes on the rim and lotus leaves on the base of the cup.Made in the Province of Jingdezhen, China about the 1950s most likely for Chinese Restaurant Industry.
20th century Jingdezhen ware; Chinese Tea Cups with "rice grain" decoration and factory mark: 中国景德镇 ("China Jingdezhen") and MADE IN CHINA in English. These cups are small so only that only the "Made in China" "
中国"
is stamped on bottom.
Good condition with a very slight fading of blue in certain areas and then some have a deeper cobalt blue color underglaze in other areas of the cups. Please see Photos.
Any brown spots are burnt rice during the firing of these porcelain Rice Tea Cups.
No chips, cracks, flea bites or repairs.
Backstamped on bottom "Made in China" with Chinese Script and English.
Measurements are Approximately:
2-1/4 inches tall
2-7/8 inch diameter
1-3/16 inch pedestal base
This will hold 4 ounces of tea right to the top of the cup but 3 ounces is much safer.
