    Description

I have for sale a medal from the Buffalo, New York Republican League for the 1892 Presidential campaign.  The Buffalo Republican League was formed to promote the Republican party and its candidates for office.  It was organized in 1884 and incorporated in 1886.  The medal is gilted brass, it has two parts and it looks to be in as made condition or close to it.  On the reverse it has the name E.C. VOLGER and I found they were located at 420 Main St in Buffalo.  The top pin back bar reads HARRISON & REID.  The bottom drop in the center has the letters BRL with 8 tiny stars.  Around the center it reads BUFFALO - REPUBLICAN LEAGUE.  The drop also shows a helmet at the top, a ribbon with stars, two crossed rifles behind, part of a wreath at the bottom, rays at the top, and the number 92 for the year 1892.  In this election President Benjamin Harrison was running for reelection and his V.P. was Whitelaw Reid.  Harrison lost the election to Grover Cleveland.  Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE COLLECTABLES.  (17,701)
