    Description

Beautiful medal commemorating Albert I (1875-1934), who was King of the Belgians from 1909 to 1934. He is known as the 'Knight King' or 'Soldier King' in reference to his role during World War I.
The medal bears an original dedication by the artist of the medal, Eugène de Bremaecker.
    Scarce and very particular.
Interesting for all collectors of war or military memorabilia.

I am currently reorganizing my collection of Art Nouveau and Art Deco medals and plaquettes, mainly from France. Over the next weeks, I will regularly put on sale medals of prominent medal artists.
If you are interested in medals of that period, I would like to recommend the book 'French medallic art 1870-1940', which I published in 2010.
