    Description

The original Personal Digital Assistant, the Newton was supposed to manage your time and
expenses. Theoretically, it recognized handwriting to turn it into text and visuals. It didn't end well, but it was fun while it lasted.
The first models shipped in 1993, when I picked up this flyer at the Consumer Electronics Show. It describes 16 titles for the Newton, on floppy disc and something called a PMCIA card (catchy!). From productivity software including the GoFigure Adding Machine to Golf, Crossword Puzzles and PocketCall, which allowed dialing into then cutting-edge services like CompuServe and GEnie.
Steve Jobs pulled the plug on Newton in 1998, less than a year after his return to Apple.
I worked in technology from the late 1980s through the early 2000s and am listing a unique group of memorabilia not available anywhere else. Please check out my other auctions.
