Description

Referred to as the Father of Christmas, Aurelian was Emperor of Ancient Rome in 270 AD. In five years of rule he managed to stop enemy invasions, stabilize the currency and bring breakaway empires back to the fold. He credited his great success to Invictus Sol, the God of the Unconquered Sun. Worship of this Pagan God became the de facto state religion. The Winter Solstice, December 25 was the Feast Day of Invictus Sol. Unable to worship without fear of reprisal, early Christians gathered under the ruse of the feast of the Sun God to worship their own Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This was how the date of Christmas, literally Christ's Mass came to be fixed on December 25th. What an amazing piece of Spiritual history!
