Major Henry (“Light Horse Harry”) Lee, who was granted a gold medal for his daring pre-dawn assault in 1779 “with a handful of men” at Paulus Hook, a British occupied fort in what is now Jersey City, New Jersey. He captured 158 prisoners and safely retreated after the successful completion of his mission. Designed by Joseph Wright, the first engraver of the United States Mint.
    NOTICE
: If you end up buying more than one auction from me in a couple day period, let me know before you pay so I can send you an invoice for all items and one charge for shipping!
I started collecting as a kid, thanks to my Grandfather who started me out with just 8 coins. I got very involved as a kid and into my young adult years, then packed it away and kept it sealed up in storage. When COVID hit and I was at home a lot more, I decided to pick up collecting again and I love it! I love the history and the artistry of the many designs throughout the decades and centuries.
With that said, I am tired of buying coins or lots that were photographed to hide the flaws or mislead in some way. With every coin I sell, I want to make sure you know everything I can tell you about the coin; whether it's through my words or photos. I want you to receive the coin with no surprises. Hopefully you will notice that I take a lot of close ups. Usually that is pointing out a flaw in the coin. The downside for me is that I have to compete against the glamour shots from other sellers who angle the lighting in a way to hide the serious flaw(s). If I sell my coins for less because of this commitment to integrity, that's fine...it's worth the peace of mind. I want you to know what you are purchasing.
Also, while I wish I could pay for the shipping (and sometimes I do on more expensive items), I would rather try and price a coin fairly low to start and hopefully we both win! Thank you for looking and happy bidding!
