    Description

    At auction is a "The Screaming Eagle" medal commissioned by the 101st Airborne Division Association to honor the divisions history of service to the nation. It was designed by Trygve Rovelstad who also designed numerous other medals as well as the Elgin Commemorative half dollar.   He was the first medalist sculptor of the U.S. War Department and designed many U.S. military medals including the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Bronze Star.
