Titter Tatter Proverbs. Florence, SC: 1950s. Folding brochure measuring 6 x 3.5" when folded, folding out to measure 12 x 14", issued by Tom's Famous Restaurant in Florence, South Carolina. As one unfolds the brochure, one is greeted by warning texts i.e. "Danger Girls at Work Proceed at Your Own Caution." The brochure fully unfolds to reveal a collection of drawings of topless women, each with a caption. Newspaper records indicate that the restaurant underwent a name change in the late 1950s, so this dates from before that. They also show that the restaurant advertised itself as "Florence's First Nightclub." Creasing, closed tears, separations along folds, couple small stains, old tape repair to front cover.  [6105]
