    Description

(THIS IS THE LAST OF 3 OF THESE MEDALS THAT I WILL EVER OWN!  I HAVE NO MORE!)  See the photos of this very nice, uncleaned, and all original example of this rare bronze medal and I submit that it would be hard to find a better specimen.  This piece has some greenish oxidation around the little opening at the top.  Note that this specimen is the much scarcer "UCV 1927" variety.  Another source on the internet described it much better than me: "
This is a Living Veteran's Roll medal from the 1927 fundraisers to carve the Confederate memorial into Stone Mountain in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The medal is gold plated and the obverse shows the figures of Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and Jefferson Davis riding horses. Beneath this is an inscription that reads: "Living Veteran's Roll/ Stone Mountain/ Confederate/ Memorial." The reverse has a depiction of the proposed Memorial Hall (which was never built). The inscription reads: "Entrance/ To/ Memorial/ Hall" and "U.C.V/ 1927". Under the date is the maker's mark which reads "Whitehead - Hoag."
Genuine and all original in every way.  Shipping, handling and insurance in the US is .99.
