1922 Hampden County Memorial Bridge Commemorative Medal 2 1/2" Bronze

Description

1922 Medal commemorating the dedication of the Hampden County Memorial Bridge in Springfield Massachusetts.
Struck in Bronze by the Whitehead-Hoag Company, 2 1/2" (63.5 mm) in diameter.  The artist is Allen Newman.
The edge is stamped Whitehead-Hoag.
The obverse is a view of the bridge from the shoreline with
"August 3, 1922"
below.
The reverse is a wreath with the dedication "From the Pioneers Down through the World War - Love of
Freedom Linked the Generations"
with
"Hamden County Memorial Bridge"
around.
The medal is in very nice condition, with just a touch of rubbing wear at the highest points of the design and some very minor scattered contact marks.
It will be carefully packaged for shipment in a non-PVC plastic flip.
