REV: LEGEND "EIDG. TURNFEST BERN 1906" CENTER ATOP FLANKING STYLIZED FLAMING TORCH BRAZIERS WITH THE SWISS RED CROSS ARMS AT CENTER TOP AND A BOWED WREATH GARLAND AT BOTTOM.
THIS BEAUTIFUL MEDAL HAS DISTINCTIVE PERIOD ARTISTIC STYING.  THE SWISS COMPANY OF HUGUENIN BROTHERS, NAMED FOR ENGRAVER FRITZ HUGUENIN AND HIS BROTHER ALBERT, WAS FOUNDED IN 1866, ISSUED THEIR FIRST MEDAL IN 1888. IN 1899, THE COMPANY STARTED SUPPLYING SWISS SHOOTING FESTIVAL MEDALS AS WELL AS CONTINUING TO MAKE WATCHES, WATCH CASES AND OTHER DECORATIVE SILVER CASES IN THE "NIEL" STYLE THAT THEY MADE FAMOUS. HUGUENIN ALSO SUPPLIED MEDALS FOR THE WINTER OLYMPICS.
