Description
We are offering a very beautiful medal from Belgium, the 1888 Belgian Medal Issued for the Town of Tournai, "Halle Aux Draps," Artistic and Industrial Exposition, Engraved by Alphonse Michaux, who was an apprentice to Leopold Wiener and followed him as Chief Engraver of the Royal Belgium Mint. The medal exhibits the 3D effect on its reverse, which was famously previously done by the Wiener brothers in many of their engraved cathedrals and buildings. The medal is 60.69 mm in diameter and is made of bronze (with a total weight of 2.922 ounces or 82.86 grams). The medal has very beautiful mahogany brown color with full luster and well engraved very high relief surfaces. The 3D effect of the reverse of this medal is strong, but not quite up to the Wieners' standard. It would be a very nice addition to your collection. Please visit our Coin Store
