    Description

    From the collection of Dr. William Blanding. A Physician, Naturalist and avid collector. See photos for his biography. The majority of his collection was donated to Brown University. This item has been passed down in his family for 6 generations. His medal and coin collection is documented in the book “Rising from Cottages” A history of Rehoboth Massachusetts. He made castcopies of medals and coins in the 1800s. The turtle he discovered is now featured on the Canadian “Loonie” dollar coin. See Worthpoint for other coins and medals in the collection.
