1814 Napoleon on Ass with Devil Token Medal SUPER NICE
This has been one of my favorite medals for many years. The front shows "Napoleon sitting backwards upon an ass being led by the devil" with INSEPERABLE FRIENDS / TO ELBA. The other side is inscribed, "WE CONQUOUR TO SET FREE / EMP. / OF RUSSIA / K. OF PRUSSIA / MARQUIS / WELLINGTON / PRINCE / SCHWARTZEN- / BERG / MARCH 31, 1814."
This medal measures 25mm and is struck in brass. This medal is rated R-4. What makes this piece so special is that it is UNHOLED, which is a rarity by itself. In addition, this one is high grade with lovely original gilt color, the nicest piece I ever had. If you want something cheap that has a hole and in wretched condition, you have to look elsewhere. BUT if you want a real nice one, look no further!
