Description
This is a veteran but scarce 1789 – 1889
“Centennial of our Nation”
hanging medal from the
“Chicago Celebration”
held in 1889 to mark 100 years since the signing of the Constitution and the beginning of the United States of America.
The medal was struck by
“Childs and Company”
medalists of Chicago, for the
“Chicago Centennial Celebration Committee”
. All examples were holed and were issued with a red, white a blue ribbon.
Weight: 14.10 Grams, 37 Millimeters, White Metal.

The Medal:
It looks like it may have been used as a key or watch fob as it has some marks and dirt. Fully original so some of the original silver gilt remains. As grading is subjective, please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
